Warped never ceases to amaze the cigar world with their ultra-premium concoctions, and the Warped Isla de Cocodrilo cigar is certainly one of their latest and greatest. Made by hand at the small, but busy Tabacalera La Isla factory in the Dominican Republic, this stick uses quite an interesting recipe. The filler blend consists of Nicaraguan leaves, and the cigar has two binders—one Brazilian Arapiraca and the other Ecuadorian Habano 2000. The wrapper is an Ecuador Habano leaf that has been culled using the “Desflorado Method,” where the flower of the tobacco plant is removed in the field, allowing the leaves themselves to grow stronger, yielding a more potent final product. “Isla de Cocodrilo” literally translates to “Island of the Crocodile,” a nickname given to Cuba because some say it is shaped like a crocodile.
